2010 PMI NA LIM #3. In a nutshell - Disappointing

2010 PMI NA LIM #3. In a nutshell - Disappointing
Day 2 of the PMI NA LIM is disappointing so far (I am writing this after walking out of the afternoon general session halfway through the motivational speaker's speech which mostly consists of him bragging about himself). I guess I am only 1/2 motivated now = oh well, I can live with it. I hope the late afternoon sessions are better. If leadership were so easy as to just "Take the stairs in life", then why, oh why, aren't there more successful leaders?

After the opening session (with the regulatory text-laden, boring PowerPoints and presenter fiddling with the remote device), one attendee requested that PMI distribute an interpretation of what the session was about. I spoke with a fellow attendee at lunch who interpreted the opening session completely differently to how I interpreted it. Two smart PMP's interpreted the same session differently and many others who are waiting for an interpretation makes me wonder if someone needs to open a window and stop inhaling their own exhaust gases before engaging more consultants with my PMI membership fees to study "supply channels for thrill seekers", or whatever the project is about.

Rather than waste my time documenting today's conference experience (and you having to read it), suffice to say that I am looking for an earlier flight home now.
