Tonight's mail delivered our new US Passports. This is incredible service. It is 10 days (5 business days) since we submitted the applications and already we have the new passports. I am astounded. This is the regular service, because I did not think it was worth paying for expedited service.
Kudo's of the highest degree to US Department of State. I have been very impressed with the entire naturalization process. The forms were easy to fill out, the USCIS website was informative and now, we have our electronic passports. Don't tell me that the government moves slowly - this quick turnaround on a passport sets the example for monolithic corporations like healthcare insurance companies to try and follow.
Good thing #2. We had a great time this past weekend camping with the scouts from Troop 880. It was the best camping trip I have ever been on. Troop 880 is the best troop in South Windsor, CT. We gave up scouting before joining this troop, because we were tired of the confusion that reigns at other scout troops. If you live in South Windsor, or a surrounding town, then consider switching to Troop 880. (www.troop880.com) The leaders are involved, parents are involved and the scouts support each other on camping trips.
I had forgotten how much I enjoy fishing. It must be 30 years since I went fishing in South Africa. When I saw scouts catching 5 inch specimens, my memory searched the archives to bring forth an old secret South African fishing bait. I baited up and pulled in a 14 inch catfish. On the next camping trip, I will share the enhanced secret bait recipe.
