Wayne's world - November 2011

Well, what a crazy start to the month. In case you were wondering what is happening in Wayne's World, here is a rare view into my world.

1. Winter Storm Alfred took out our power and heat for seven days. Wayne's world went back 100 years as we lived with candle light and food heated over an open flame with our lives dictated by the sun rise and sunset. Thank goodness, life is now back to normal and the biggest complaint I hear now is "This sugary doughnut is not my favorite flavor."

2. Penn State is facing challenges. What do you mean that the coach "showers with young boys?" It is beyond belief that no-one went ballistic when this was discovered. Hopefully other sports teams have instituted procedures and training programs to prevent this ever happening again.

3. Of course, Jeff Butler has gone from center stage, to "Jeff who?" Now that power is back on, no-one cares about what is happening to make sure we don't lose power the next time it snows. Until the next power outage and we struggle to find gas for our vehicles.

4. Botha Basement Brewery was surprisingly productive. Due to a coincidence of great weather, no pressing commitments and the inner creative urge, a porter and modified English Pale Ale are fermenting. Orgasmic Oatmeal Stout is in bottles and is conditioning. My inventory overfloweth and I am ready to close up doors for the winter if the weather turns nasty.

5. I am finishing up a series of RATIA - Relationship Awareness Theory In Action. Already published on Facebook and coming to this website, soon.

6. I am shaking my head as I prepare an emergency action plan for a non-profit organization. It is surreal to create a plan, assuming that all power, phones, TV, Cable and Internet will be out of action. It seems impossible in this day and age. Yet, it happened to us two weeks ago.

7. In a few months, we will celebrate eleven years in the USA. Hard to believe. How time flies.

8. Thanksgiving week, next week in the USA. Short work week, followed by long weekend of family time and of course, Black Friday. When last did you need to go shopping at 4 AM for the "sale of the century"? Followed by the relaxing and slow-paced Christmas season.

What's up in your life?
